It can accommodate twins as young as birth and accommodate two car seats or an infant carrycot and seat. However, the seats have to face forwards and there's no space for a shopping bag underneath and you'll need a sidepack to do this.
If you're looking to travel off-road, the Mountain Buggy Duet is a good choice. It is a side by side with the most compact footprint of any double buggy on the market. It's easier to maneuver through narrow doors on public transport, and to climb over and up kerbs. It also has a handbrake that is attached to the handlebar that can be adjusted for more security and safety.
Another option that is lightweight is the UPPAbaby Vista 2 Double that can be used to accommodate twins or a toddler and a baby. The seats have a multi-position reclining with UPF 50plus sunshades. The canopy can be adjusted to ensure that the sun doesn't touch your child's eyes. The Vista 2 can be converted into triple by adding UPPAbaby's 'PiggyBack’ board for older children.
The iCandy Orange is one of the most sought-after double buggies on the market because of its exceptional comfort. It's an all-terrain vehicle, with a soft suspension to make easy work of bumpy surfaces. Internet Page comes with 30 different seating options, a built-in board for older children who prefer to walk, and a 'cinema' mode which raises the back seats for better visibility.
Alternately, the phil&teds dots is a brilliant single buggy that is available from day one which is then able to take 2 (or 3!) in multiple configurations. This is especially useful for parents with children in a car seat, since the frame can be fitted with a wedgie to allow for optimal lie-flat positioning, or car seat adapters to various brands.
Suspension
The quality of the suspension on a 3-wheel double buggy is crucial to how it will be easy for you and your baby to push. It is essential to enjoy a smooth ride since babies feel every bump in the road. This is especially the case if you're driving on rough terrain, such as grass or roads that aren't paved. Some models also have front wheels that lock to assist with maneuvering and getting over obstacles like curbs.
Some models have tyres with air filled that are great for all-terrain riding, however they are susceptible to punctures. Make sure you have a spare set of tyres in your trunk. Others have foam or gel tyres, which are specifically designed to handle bumps and can be less prone to punctures however, you might find them a little stiff and uncomfortable on your child's back when you decide to jog.

"It navigated effortlessly across grass and bumpy sidewalks cobbles, dirt, and tracks and was easy for me to navigate around corners and get up or down kerbs." Folding
A 3 wheel double buggy folds quite easily for storage. There are options that fold flat or stand up (as though they were in a pushchair) and those that open to reveal a more umbrella-like folding that has the option of a hand-operated break. The more wheels the buggy is equipped with, in general the easier it will be to maneuver through rough terrain. This is especially relevant if the wheels are larger than average. This will provide you with more stability and decrease the likelihood that your child will fall over or tip over.

Its clever frame expands to accommodate a second seat, but it weighs only 11kg. This makes it easy to lift and move. It can also accommodate a car seat or carrycot, so you can have the best of both worlds and it will help your budget in the future since you don't have to buy a new buggy immediately.
